ABOUT ZAMORA - A MEMENTO
- I have left this page almost unaltered, along with some of the photographs,
as a reminder for both myself and the many who have sailed with me during
the last 36 years of what was, in her time, an almost ideal teaching platform
and a splendid "go anywhere" sailing yacht. The Westerly Medway is very large
internally for her 36ft overall length, while with a draught of 6ft and beam
of 11ft she is still small enough to get into the many tiny and attractive
harbours and anchorages. She is a very sturdily built and sea kindly yacht,
and would be safe and comfortable to sail anywhere, and in almost any conditions.
ZAMORA is especially well laid out for this type of cruising, (see layout
below), and is fitted with Radar, GPS, Navtex, DSC VHF and all the standard
navigational instruments and publications. Domestically, she has full cooking
facilities, refrigerator, pressurised water system and shower, central heating
system, cutlery, crockery, bedding, lifejackets and safety harnesses.
